Get ready for cuteness overload!
Daisy is a 10 ish year old dog who has lived with the same family her whole life. When she started peeing and pooping in the house, the decision was made to euthanize her.
Not check her out medically.
Not try to help her.
Not even to accept this as part of the aging process and deal with it.
Euthanize.
The clinic really didn't want to do that. With very little hope, stalling in the exam room, they sent us an email. We saw the email come in and and immediately phoned them for more information. A quick back and forth between the management team, the surrender form was sent. The owner consented to signing her over instead. A couple hours later we picked up Daisy from the clinic. Originally suspected by the vet to be diabetic (but again, the owner refused testing, she was taken to the vet for one reason and one reason only), turns out her glucose levels are actually ok. It's likely she has Cushing's disease instead and we will test for that in the next few days. Daisy will start whatever medication she needs. That, coupled with a diet and exercise program, she should be able to live a full and happy life. As a Saint.
Welcome to your new life Daisy.
