My Story

Meet our newest Saint!

This is Pebbles. She’s about 12-13 years old. Pebbles had three homes in quick succession when she was very young and was outgrowing all “teacup pig” size expectations. Her 4th home and family loved her. They adopted her about 10 years ago. Unfortunately the reality of having the property required for a pot belly pig was unsustainable. Pebbles was moved to a family friends place, in what was supposed to be a temporary solution. This is where she spent the 4 years. She was loved here too. But, her person has to move and cannot bring her pig. Between the two families, they banded together and had Pebbles placed on the waitlist with PEACE Canada. Pebs has been on this waitlist for a loooooong time. She would have had no idea that her people were running out of options. At SAINTS, with the hard work of our staff, most of our other pots all live communally. This opened up a spot. We were able to offer another senior pig a home, and I can tell you, there is no shortage of pots in need. We elected to reach out for Pebbles because she meets our mandate and just has no place else to go. After all, she’s been through now 6 different moves, she deserves somewhere safe to land for the rest of her life. This has been weeks in progress, Pebbles moved all the way from Bowen Islsnd. And this pig who normally hates travelling (who could blame her) was happy and calm the trip over. She knew. ❤️
