Meet Victoria đź’•
Victoria has been called Cyclops for the last 7 years or so. She was born into and then multiple times added to a colony of cats living on a farm property in the lower mainland. Eventually Delta Community Animal Shelter was called in to help with population control and some serious health and welfare concerns of the colony cats. Cyclops is blind in her left eye (hence the name the farmers gave her). DCAS trapped her in their ongoing effort to reduce the population on this property and try to have the medical issues dealt with. This is one very lucky cat. Had she not been caught when she was, the pregnancy she had was doomed and would have killed her. After her spay/abort surgery she also badly needed dental extractions, and had extensive ear infections. Throughout healing from all this, Victoria decided she actually doesn't want to be a barn cat after all. She is a bit on the shy side but is overall pretty friendly and social. However, she is still learning to trust people. There are some things she just isn't comfortable having done to her (like being picked up). She is relatively healthy other than the sightless eye, poor hearing and a slight head tilt that may resolve. She was not a candidate to be released back on the land she came from, and her adoption prospects are quite low. While under socialized, the work DCAS has put in really shows. We are confident after her intake period Victoria will make the transition into our upstairs cats just fine.
Welcome!
