"In his master's steps he trod......"

It's a good thing it's almost December, that song is going to be in my head all day (and now in yours, too!).

My foster Isaac is very wobbly with a very weak back end. Late last night he got himself literally stuck in the snow. And he does not take kindly to being lifted. I ended up having to shovel him out! :)

So this morning, with the wind having picked up and large snow drifts across the yard, I bundled up and broke a trail for him. And there I am, at 5:00 AM, trudging up the driveway (the path of least resistance since I had driven over it twice yesterday), with the dog following a nose length behind me, cold nose bumping into the back of my knees every time I stop (who would have thought a dog's cold nose could be felt through heavy sweatpants?). And then that old familiar Christmas carol came to me........

"Mark my footsteps, my good dog, step thou in them bodly,Thou shalt find the winter's rage freeze thy butt less coldly."

It's gonna be a loooooong winter.
