i have been watching lola these past couple days

i see that shrinking, that pulling of herself into her center. she will still drink a bit of her favorite milk, but it is not to sustain herself, just a few licks because she likes the soft, cool wetness of it. tomorrow will be day three of the new meds, that should be the turning point if they will work, if she hasn't slipped too far away, if she hasn't already decided that she is ready to stop. lola is an ancient old cat but until she became ill, i could ignore her extreme age because she ignored it too. now i can't, it is staring at me from inside her eyes. i love you lola, you are such a very special cat. whatever you decide, i am right there beside you.
