she stopped eating yesterday...her cancerous tumor was pressing on her bowel and it looked like it had invaded one of her kidneys...life was not going to be easy for her any more so at our vets recommendation, she was assisted to pass peacefully away. renee had her wrapped softly up in a towel while we waited for the pre-med to take affect. maya was purring away in renee's arms, happy to be so lovingly held. i don't think maya had a very great life, i think people had let her down pretty hard. but at least she had a kind and gentle passing, sometimes that is the only thing left for us to offer to them when they are so close to the end.
rest in peace maya, you were a very lovely little cat.
