Our Solution

Simply put we need a new property to properly care for our current animals and provide space for many more.  A new sanctuary will not only provide more space but also many improved features for our animals such as adequate ventilation, outdoor space, and medical facilities.

Our current Mission property was sold in March 2024, and we have been fortunate enough to find a beautiful new 5 acre location in Maple Ridge.  We took possession at the end of September 2024. Mid October 2025 we were able to move onto our new property.

Update: January 1, 2026

We launched the quiet phase of our Give Love, Give Sanctuary Capital Campaign in August 2024, and on June 18, 2025, we opened the campaign to the public. Our goal was ambitious: $1.1 million raised by the end of the year. As we now prepare to officially close the campaign, we want to share where we landed — and how deeply grateful we are.

While we did not quite reach the full goal, we came astonishingly close. Together, our community raised $1,060,868, which is 96.4% of our target. For a grassroots organization with a tiny but fiercely dedicated team of staff and volunteers leading the fundraising effort, this outcome is nothing short of extraordinary.

We are astounded. We are thrilled. And above all, we are profoundly grateful.

Your generosity has strengthened SAINTS by allowing us to build solid, lasting infrastructure and hire reputable contractors whose work will stand the test of time. Our aim has always been to ensure that the next 20 years do not leave us facing the same challenges our old sanctuary buildings did as they began to fail.

Update: November 19, 2025

As of mid- October SAINTS is now fully transitioned to our new property - a major milestone for our sanctuary.  The good news: we've raised $1,030,000 of our $1.1 million goal through the Give Love, Give Sanctuary Campaign.  Now with year-end approaching, we-re working hard to raise the final $70,000 needed by December 31st to cover the remaining costs of essential upgrades and renovations.

Every contribution brings us closer to securing a safe, sustainable future for our senior and special needs animals.

Our Challenge

Since 2004, more than 1,000 senior, palliative, and special needs animals have called SAINTS home. As time has passed, the need for our sanctuary has only increased and we have outgrown our current 3-acre property.  Our sanctuary and foster network consistently care for over 100 animals across a diverse range of species. We are bursting at the seams.

With our foundation crumbling, our main house is in such a condition that we have had to curtail our intake of larger dogs.  The dogs have to rotate use of the only outdoor field with the 30 barn animals and we have too many cats sharing space.  During our increasingly hot summers, our water is drying up sooner and sooner.

All of this is restricting our ability to give above-average enrichment let alone accept more animals who desperately need SAINTS.  We needed a more sustainable place for our resident animals, volunteers, and staff. Bandage solutions to fix infrastructure issues at our aging sanctuary were no longer viable.

Give Love, Give Sanctuary

The Give Love, Give Sanctuary Campaign aims to raise funds to cover the costs of purchasing the new property and carrying out extensive renovations, ensuring it is fully prepared before moving in.

Give Love, Give Sanctuary Please give to provide a safe haven for senior, palliative, and special needs animals where they will be cherished until the end of their days.
