Great News at SAINTS

Carol  ·  Jun. 6, 2007

We have been awarded a $5000 grant from the Mary Wakefield Animal Welfare Memorial Fund by the Abbotsford Community Foundation to begin renovations on our handicapped accessible multi-purpose room. The generosity of Mary Wakefield and the trust of the Abbotsford Foundation will allow us to create an area at SAINTS that will safely facilitate access to SAINTS and our wonderful animals to the community as a whole. One of the dreams of SAINTS has been the building of a bridge to marginalized members of our society and encouraging inclusion within our community. The animals have always been this bridge, but access to them and the gifts that they share has been limited by the challenges of our actual physical environment. With the help of Mary Wakefield's love for animals and the Foundation's committment to their community, this dream is about to become a reality. These much needed funds are just the start of this dream and SAINTS is dedicated to creating a place where all living beings are honored and valued and cherished.

Our heartfelt thanks for the kindness and the vision of Mary and the grant committee in helping us to build this special place.
