sigh...the point of the in my defence post was NOT to make anyone uncomfortable when calling, feel free to call away...i just wanted folks to understand the realities of why i don't always answer right away.
it is actually a good system, you call...i answer if i am able or if i want to.... and if i do, you know i am ok about answering when i actually do...and if i don't answer, you know i am busy, and since i didn't answer, you are not bothering me either.
As a person who detests telephones and avoids them at all cost, I can only imagine how stressful it must be when there is an (unreasonable, rude and unnecessary)expectation that you be available 16, 17, 18 hours a day by phone.
Maybe you could set up a g-mail account dedicated to SAINTS business only, and have people contact you that way, with no telephone option being made available. Your "home" phone could then actually be your home phone, your work cell would be used exclusively for work, and you could possibly have a few moments of peace now and then.
