Rescue Journal

hope floating updates

Carol  ·  Oct. 8, 2015

miley had her first cruciate surgery, she is home on cage rest for the next 6 weeks. then we will do the other knee and let that one heal for a couple of months more. and she will need some post op physio so hopefully she will be ready for adoption by the spring.

rosie has another couple of weeks until her next xray check...it is taking a long time for one of her broken/fixed legs to heal but hopefully we are getting close because she would really like to have her own home.

roger is doing ok...maybe coughing a tiny bit more. but he is still really enjoying each day...hopefully he will continue to feel well for quite a while more.

sasha is better but still not great...he goes back into the vets for a recheck next week.

we spend a lot of time and money healing and caring for sad broken animals. but if i could just change one thing about animal's lives...it would be this...

getting humans to open their eyes and learn to respect the lives of animals independently of our own human needs and perceptions.

they are not our servants nor our slaves.

they are not our toys or our furry babies.

they are a functioning, thinking, feeling entity...they stand proudly as who they are beside us or not..if we let them,

if we can learn to respect them.

maybe one day.

Sorry for duplicate comment . Just wanted to say could you please post updates on Ewok . Thank you

Wendy Scott

Very Upset to hear Ewok is starting a downward spiral. I know that day is coming as she is 100years old in dog years , which is amazing for her . She has had a good life and happy that you Carol gave her and Smokey a home together. Still it hurts me to know that she is declining. I know you will be there for her. I am thankful for the great care and support of all the Saint's staff. Bless you all . Your hard work does not go unnoticed!pl

I agree. People sometimes say that I am my cat's dad. I say no, we are buddy's and I feed him, house him, and get proper vet care for him. That is my two bits on the topic.
