she was fine today but early this evening i heard her food bowl go flying. i went to her and she was flailing around curling to the right. she was conscious but she had lost total control of her legs and her body. michelle came over and helped me stretcher her out to the van, i picked up anne in maple ridge and she went with us to emergency.
stella had a few milder episodes like this before, her upper spine was a trainwreck from some kind of massive injury years ago.
this episode however was so much worse than the others. the vet carefully assessed her and it was obvious that this time, the neurological damage was profound and it was time to let her go.
rest in peace sweet, gentle stella...you will be greatly missed.
