Dixie came to SAINTS in 2011. At the time she was a young lady still, only 7, but had already been used and done away with by the racing industry.
After suffering a spiral injury, Dixie was destined for auction. Unless a space to live could be found for her. Luckily we were able to take her in at SAINTS at the time.
When she first arrived she was on the smaller side - a little defeated and deflated due to her past circumstances. It wasn't long though, under the care of staff and volunteers, that Dixie found her confidence and was able to raise her head high again.
In the years since, Dixie has made a lot of adjustments - including temporarily boarding elsewhere so that we could make urgent room for Dixie when she first came in.
